Health Career Connection continues to expand into regions across the nation to provide opportunities for undergraduates and recent graduates.

The support of esteemed Health Career Connection alum, Denise Fair Razo, the Chief Public Health Officer for the City of Detroit, enabled a partnership with the Detroit Health Department in 2022. Interns worked on various projects during the summer of 2022: starting a neighborhood outreach education and lead testing program for Detroit homes, and creating outreach materials to address the cruciality of postpartum care for black women.

HCC also received funding from the Kresge Foundation (based in Detroit) which made it possible to offer internship opportunities to students based at the Baltimore, DC, and Detroit Health Departments.
