Health Career Connection's Founders and Directors are successful executives who are committed to providing students with practical exposure, experience and support to choose and achieve a compelling health career direction and become effective leaders and professionals.

Three of the four Founders are alumni of a Northern California internship program that was the origin of HCC. The Northern California Program, which prior to joining HCC offered internships to undergraduate students for over 20 years, was the experience that affirmed their interest in healthcare, provided them with mentors, lead them to their first healthcare jobs and connected them to the graduate school they attended. Since that time they have been committed to providing similar opportunities to other undergraduate students, and have been doing do for over 15 years. They started HCC 2 years ago to strengthen and expand the resources and opportunities available to the increasing number of undergraduate students interested in health careers. A primary motivation for starting HCC was expanding the opportunities and support for students of color.
