Alumni Association

Alumni Association

In 33 years, Health Career Connection (HCC) has exponentially grown from a volunteer-run internship program in Northern California to a national program that has empowered over 5,000 students to launch their authentic careers while contributing to the mission of our partner health organizations. HCC boasts an alumni network of influential and value-driven leaders who are making a meaningful impact in their communities and their industries. Examples include alumni Ike Mmeje, Chief Operating Officer at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, John Pineda and Juan Gomez, founders of MILPA, Rubi Sanchez founder of Cocoon Cam, Inc, and city councilwoman Anayeli Zavala. The HCC Alumni Association is a unified body that nurtures the growth and influence of a diverse health workforce and transformational health leaders. The association advances excellence, equity, innovation, and health improvement within HCC’s employer and health professions school partners and communities they serve.

National Alumni Association Board

In 2019, the HCC National Alumni Association Board was established to advise and provide direction for the Alumni Association. The board is comprised of HCC alumni who embody HCC’s core values, are actively involved in the life of HCC, and aspire to give back to fellow alumni and future interns. Our NAAB partners with HCC executive leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives for the Alumni Association that align with HCC’s mission, vision, and goals.
