HCC is a national non-profit that inspires and empowers undergraduate students, recent graduates and HCC alumni, particularly those from under-represented or disadvantaged backgrounds, to choose and successfully pursue healthcare and public health careers. We achieve this by connecting interns and alumni to real world exposure, experience, mentoring and networking that assists them in achieving their goals. HCC also serves as the connection between organizations and graduate health professions schools in all health sectors and the talented, diverse future health leaders and professionals they need to meet their workforce, diversity, community health and other priority goals. HCC’s ultimate aim is to improve the health of populations in the regions we serve and nationally by motivating and developing greater numbers of value driven, capable and diverse leaders and public health professionals.
HCC’s Priority Goals are:
- Students discover and realize their full potential through a health career that is authentically aligned with their background, talents, goals, and the difference they want to make;
- Organizations and graduate programs have access to diverse talented students, leaders and professionals that contribute to their diversity, quality and community health goals;
- Increase the number of diverse, value driven health leaders and professionals capable of solving our complex health challenges. Inspire them to give back to their communities and to others behind them in the health career pipeline.
